Frequently asked questions
Which law programmes can I join at Mugil College of Law?
Two programmes are offered: the five-year integrated B.A. LL.B. after the Higher Secondary (10+2), and the three-year LL.B. for candidates who already hold a bachelor's degree. Both are affiliated to The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University.
What arts subjects are part of the B.A. LL.B.?
The five-year B.A. LL.B. combines legal education with study in political science, economics and sociology. It runs over 10 semesters, and the University prescribes the syllabus and conducts the semester examinations.
Should I choose the B.A. LL.B. or the three-year LL.B.?
It depends on your current qualification. Students who have finished +2 apply for the five-year B.A. LL.B. Graduates of any discipline from a UGC-recognised university, with at least 45% aggregate (40% for SC/ST), can take the shorter three-year LL.B.
Is there an upper age limit for either programme?
No. The college's published eligibility states there is no upper age limit for the B.A. LL.B. or the LL.B. Employed candidates are not eligible to apply, and Diploma or ITI qualifications are not accepted in place of +2.
