Are any moot court competitions scheduled right now?

No competitions are listed at the moment. Internal moots, mock trials and external competitions are announced on this page and on the college notice board, so check both regularly.

Where are moot courts held at the college?

Moots are held in the college moot court hall, which reproduces the layout of a courtroom with a raised bench, counsel tables and a witness box. The hall is used for internal moots, trial advocacy practice and competitions.

Is moot court part of the law degree?

Yes. Moot Court Exercise and Internship is one of the four clinical courses the Bar Council of India requires. It covers moot court exercises, observation of civil and criminal trials, client interviews and pre-trial preparation recorded in a diary.

What does a moot court competition involve?

Participants research a legal problem, write a memorial setting out their arguments, and argue the case before judges. Related events include mock trials with witness examination and client counselling and negotiation exercises.
